At Chetrum we generally prefer to acquire a controlling interest in the businesses in our portfolio. At times we have done that in combination with other investors, particularly for larger deals. We find that ownership of a significant stake in a business bests aligns our interests with those of management and other owners.
We are open to a variety of possible equity vehicles as the means of investment, and to both stock and asset purchases. There is no 'typical' equity investment for Chetrum, either in structure or size. Chetrum's current portfolio investments range from $25,000 to over $1 million in equity contribution.
Companies of interest to Chetrum typically have revenues in the $5 million to $25 million range, and depending on the business, need not be solidly profitable. Our focus is on the small end of the deal market because we find that it presents us with a diverse range of investment opportunities often overlooked by larger funds.
Industries of interest include manufacturing (all types), healthcare, business services and retailing. At the present time, we are specifically seeking acquisitions in the specialty screw and fastener industry to complement our investment in Safety Socket LLC.
